A Wedgwood, black basalt, trumpet shaped bough pot and cover. This is marked ‘WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND’ and it dates from c.1920. It is also impressed with a number ‘6’ which relates to the height in inches. The vase is decorated, in relief, with a band of classical figures offering sacrifices. To the top is a band of flowers and foliage and to the base is a band of grapes and vines. All of the reliefs are good quality. The pierced lid is for holding boughs of flowers, to aid flower arrangements. Both the vase and pierced cover are in excellent condition.
