A lovely quality, 19th century, Wedgwood black basalt plaque depicting Hercules and the Erymanthian Boar. This is marked with”WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1820. It is very deeply moulded, with fabulous detail, and is in excellent condition. Wedgwood only produced two basalt plaques in this series, the other one being Hercules and the Nemean Lion.
