Code: K22954

SOLD

A fabulous quality, large pair of Wedgwood, dark blue jasper dip Trophy vases. These are marked “WEDGWOOD ENGLAND” and they date from c.1900. This shape of vase was known as a Trophy vase because they always had reliefs on the necks which represent hanging trophies, either military or relating to music and the arts. The bodies of the vases are ornamented with reliefs depicting the Muses and there are various foliate borders. All of the reliefs are very good quality and the jasper dip is a good, rich shade of blue. There is a tiny chip to the rim of one of the vases, which may be from the manufacture, and is illustrated in one of the photos. Other than that they are in excellent condition.
