A Wedgwood, dark blue, jasper dip, tapered jug with a pewter lid. The base of the jug has the impressed marks ‘WEDGWOOD ENGLAND’ and a number ’36’. It dates from c.1900. The body of the jug is decorated, in relief, with classical figures in a sacrificial procession and to the rim is a band of passionflowers and foliage. The reliefs are very good quality and the jasper dip is a rich shade of blue. There is a tiny chip, to the dip colour, on the foot of the jug but this looks to be from the manufacture. Otherwise it is in very good condition.
