A fine quality, Wedgwood, dark blue, jasper dip Trophy Vase. This is marked “WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND” and it dates from c.1920. It is a very good example for a piece from this period. The twin handled vase has musical and military reliefs, hanging from ribbons, to the shoulder and it is because of these that this design of vase became known as a “Trophy” vase. Around the body of the vase are four of the Muses standing between trees and foliage, and there are various leaf borders to the foot and the shoulder of the vase. All of the reliefs are very good quality and the jasper dip is a good, rich shade of blue.
The piece is in excellent condition.
