A miniature, Wedgwood, dark blue, jasper dip doric shape jug. This is marked “WEDGWOOD ENGLAND” and it dates from c.1900. There are a couple of other very indistinct marks, which have not been well struck, and they are possibly workman’s marks. This is relief decorated with a continuous band of classical subjects offering sacrifices, set between trees. The reliefs are good quality and the jasper dip is a lovely, dark shade of blue. Miniatures of this period are now quite uncommon.
There is a small piece of relief missing from the top of one of the heads. This can be seen in one of the images. Otherwise it is in good condition.
Dimensions: Height 7.3cm. Diameter 4.8cm. Width 6cm.
