Single Spill Vaes.

A Wedgwood, dark blue jasper dip, spill vase. Although these vases were origianlly designed for containing spills on a mantle piece for lighting the fire, they now make good flowers vases. This one is marked 'WEDGWOOD' to the base and it dates from c.1860. There is also an impressed number '6' or '9'. It is decorated with two of the Muses standing between trees. To the rim is a border of scrolls and flowers. All of the reliefs are good quality and the jasper dip is a very good, rich, shade of blue. It is in excellent condition.
