A Wedgwood, dark blue jasper dip cheese dish and cover. This is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1860. It is also impressed with a number ‘4’. The under plate has a border of oak leaves and the cover has the same design to the top. The sides of the cover are decorated with a continuous band of classical figures and trees. All of the reliefs are very good quality and the jasper dip is a good, rich shade of blue.
Both the base and cover are in excellent condition.
