A Wedgwood, dark blue jasper dip hair tidy. This is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1860. Hair tidies were kept on a ladies dressing table and were used when combing hair. The hair would be removed from the comb and put into the tidy. This example is decorated with three different classical subjects which are divided by anthemion. There is an attractive classical border to the lid. The reliefs are all very good quality and the jasper dip is a good, rich shade of blue. It is in excellent condition.
