A small, Wedgwood, ‘Etruscan’ shaped jug. This jug is marked ‘WEDGWOOD’ and it dates from c.1880. It is also impressed with the number ’42’ and a letter ‘D’. The shape was catalogued, by Wedgwood in the 19th century, as the Etruscan shape. It is decorated in relief with ‘the Three Graces’ to one side and classical maidens offering sacrifices to the other. There is a small chip on the end of one of the leaves in the lower border. Otherwise the piece is in very good condition.
