A good quality, Wedgwood, dark blue jasper dip vase. This is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1850. It is also impressed with a number ‘9’, which relates to the size, and a letter ‘W’. It is decorated, in relief, with four of the Muses standing between anthemion. To the neck is a narrow band of laurel leaves and berries and there is similar, but finer, relief around the handles. The handles are particularly delicate. All of the reliefs are very good quality and the jasper dip is a good, rich shade of blue. The vase is in excellent condition, with no damage or repair.
