A small, Wedgwood, dark blue jasper dip pill, or patch, box. This piece is marked 'WEDGWOOD' and it dates from c.1840. It is also impressed with a large letter 'V' which would have been a workman's mark. It is decorated, in relief, with Pegasus to the top and a series of classical subjects around the side of the pot. These are divided by anthemion and there is a narrow border of flowers to the rim of the lid. All of the reliefs are good quality and the jasper dip is a rich shade of blue. It is in excellent condition.
