SOLD

A pair of Wedgwood solid blue jasper plaques. Each plaque is marked “WEDGWOOD” and one is also marked “ETRURIA ENGLAND”. They date from c.1895. The solid jasper bodies are decorated, in white relief, with classical figures. The relief decoration is good quality but there are some firing lines to the one showing the maiden carrying the basket of flowers on her head. They are both in perfect condition. They are in later frames which consist of a metal border on a wooden back. Although not contemporary with the plaques the style of the frames is well suited to the plaques. There are inner borders to the frame which have been painted blue to match with the plaques.

Dimensions of each plaque: Height 16.5cm. Width 11cm. Overall size with frame: Height  20.7cm. Width 15cm. Depth 2cm.
