A fine quality Wedgwood, black and white jasper dip broach in a 9ct gold setting. This piece is marked 'Wedgwood & Bentley' and it dates from c.1775. The Wedgwood and Bentley partnership was mainly for the production of the larger, ornamental wares and it is unusual to find a piece of jewellery bearing the mark. The white relief on this broach is exceptionally finely modelled, although now it is slightly yellow with age. There are two very tiny chips to the reverse of the plaque but these are not very noticeable, due to the setting. Other than that the broach is in good condition.
