A Wedgwood, pale green jasper biscuit barrel, or cookie jar, with a silver plated lid and mounts. This is marked “WEDGWOOD ENGLAND” and it dates from c.1900. There is also a workman’s mark in the form of a cross. The barrel is decorated with four different classical subjects, including “The Cupid Seller” and “The Anointing of Achilles”, and there are acanthus leaves around the bulbous base. All of the reliefs are good quality and the piece is in excellent condition.
