A nineteenth century Wedgwood pottery tile from the series featuring the months of the year. This tile is transfer printed, in a dark bluey grey, with “October”, depicting a young boy walking with his pet pig. It is marked, in the moulding on the reverse, “JOSIAH WEDGWOOD & SONS ETRURIA” and it dates from c.1870. There are a few small chips to the rim of the tile on both the face and the reverse.
