A nineteenth century, Wedgwood majolica plate. This is a very attractive design, with an arcaded border and a moulded band of acanthus leaves and pillars, which are then coloured with green, brown and yellow majolica glazes. It is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it is also impressed with the letters “BGZ” which is the date code for the year 1871. It is a charming and unusual plate and it is in excellent condition.
