A set of nine, Wedgwood majolica, shell shaped plates. These plates are moulded in the shape of scallop shells and they are then coloured in green, brown and yellow majolica glazes. The set has obviously been put together, as the backs of the plates differ, and there are two different three letter date codes. Each one has an impressed “WEDGWOOD” mark. Two are impressed with “AXS” for the year 1864, three are impressed “NRY” for the year 1870 and four are impressed “AWZ” for the year 1871. They do, however, make a very impressive display.
Dimensions: Each plate measures 21.7cm. long by 21.4cm. wide by 2.5cm. deep.
One has a tiny chip on the foot rim and one has a tiny chip on the rim. The other 7 are in perfect condition.
