A large, 19th century, beechwood butter print carved with a bird. There is fabulous detail in the carving of this print, which is English and dates from c.1850. The handle and print are carved separately and are joined by a carved screw thread. There are two cracks in the wood. These are more obvious on the reverse of the print but they are also slightly visible on the face. They have been filled and will not spread further.
Dimensions: Diameter 12.2cm. Length of print and handle 9.2cm.
