A fabulous quality, 18th century, double sided, boxwood sugar mould. This is beautifully carved with a series of small designs which would have been used for producing elaborate decorations for cakes. It is English and dates from c.1780 and the wood has a lovely, honey coloured patina. There is a small stain to one side and there are just a few, fine shrinkage cracks in the wood which you would expect from a piece of this period.
Dimensions: Length 25.5cm. Width 10.3cm. Depth 2cm.
