Small Butter Mould Carved with a Cow

Code: M25288

SOLD

A small, nineteenth century, butter ejector print carved with a cow. This is carved in sycamore and it dates from c.1850. The design is very well carved, with good detail. The cup of the print would have been filled with butter and then pushed out, giving one a pat of butter with the design on the top. There is very slight staining to the wood, but otherwise it is in good condition, and the wood has a lovely, pale honey coloured patina.

Dimensions: Diameter 6cm. Overall length when the print is pulled back into the cup 8.4cm. This would produce a pat of butter 4.9cm. diameter by 2.1cm. deep.

Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £10. Most of Western Europe add £5.
