A small, wooden sugar mould carved with a garland. This is stamped, on two sides and also on the face, with “W.W. ROBERTS”. This is probably the mark of the carver. It is also carved with the number ’902’ to one end. It is carved in boxwood and dates from c.1820. The carving is very deep and exceptionally well detailed and the wood has a lovely rich patina. There are two cracks in the face of the mould and one in the reverse but none of them go right through the wood.
