A large, wooden sugar mould carved with two garlands of grapes and vines. The carving in this mould is exceptionally well detailed and it is carved in a fruitwood. It is English, it dates from c.1820 and it is in excellent condition. The wood has a lovely rich patina. Moulds of this type were used for both fancy sugar work and also for gesso.
