A very unusual, carved sycamore butter print. This is beautifully carved with a stylised flower and leaves. The carving is very deep but it is also dished, so when pressed into the butter you would end up with a decorated shallow dome on top of the butter. This is a most unusual form. It is English and dates from c.1860. There is a crack on the rim of the mould but other than that it is in good condition and the wood has a lovely, rich patina.
Dimensions: Diameter 5.8 cm. Length of print and handle 5.5cm.
