An unusual two part wooden butter mould carved with a flowers. Butter moulds of this type were filled with butter to produce a three dimensional shape. They are not common and often, over time, the two sections have parted company. This is a particularly lovely design, very deeply carved with a flower, and it dates from c.1860. It is in excellent condition, still retaining its’ original pegs to locate the two parts together, so it could be used.
