A 19th century, wooden shortbread mould. This is made from sycamore, is probably Scottish, and dates from c.1880. The wood has been turned on a lathe and then the central design has been carved to give the shaped mould for the shortbread. It is in very good condition, with just a little scratching to the wood from use.
