Horse's Hoof

SOLD

Code: LD1

Dimensions:

W: 15.2cm (6")H: 14.5cm (5.7")D: 7.9cm (3.1")

An unusual, large copper mould in the shape of a horse's hoof. This shape of mould is quite common in a small form but it is not seen very often in this larger size. It is marked, to one side, with the orb and cross symbol used by Benhams. To the opposite side it is marked 'H PACKHAM & SONS' and there is a second striking of the name 'H PACKHAM'. Benhams were the manufacturers of this piece and Packhams would have been the retailers. It dates from c.1880. The design is crisply modelled and the moulding is deep. There are a couple of very tiny dents to the high points of the mould but other than that it is in very good condition. The tinning, to the interior, is worn through, so it could not be used. This design looks particularly good when hanging. We have attached a hanger, which can be easily removed if required.
Price includes postage within the U.K. and Western Europe. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £10.
