An early 19th century, oak  and mahogany candle box. Date c.1820. This piece is quite interesting in that the sides, back panel and lid are carved in oak but the front panel is mahogany. This contrast in woods give a very attractive look and the mahogany panel has a lovely grain to the wood. Both the back panel and the lid are nicely shaped and the piece is in excellent condition.
