English copper sugar pan.

SOLD

Code: F18402

A Victorian copper sugar pan with a spout and a turned, wooden handle. This pan would have been used for caramelising sugar so the interior is not tinned. It is English, it made from a very heavy gauge of copper, and it dates from c.1880. On the base you can just make out the remainder of the orb and cross symbol which was used by Benhams but it is really worn. On the handle fixing, to the side of the pan, is a number '6' and this relates to the internal diameter of the pan in inches. The wooden handle is turned from mahogany and there is a steel loop in the end, so the pan can be hung. The piece is in excellent condition.
Diameter of pan 16cm. Height of pan 10.8cm. Overall length of pan and handle 39cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £25. Western Europe add £10.
