An Edwardian bread knife with a carved wooden handle. The blade of this knife is marked 'ENCORE  THOMAS TURNER & CO CUTLERS TO HIS MAJESTY and it dates from c.1905. The handle is very well carved, in beechwood, with flowers and long leaves. The carving is quite deep and the piece is in excellent condition.
