A Victorian breadboard carved with the motto ‘Be Thankful’. This board is carved in sycamore and it dates from c.1860. The motto, which is one of the less common mottos, is carved in an elaborate font and there are long leaves and a small flowers around the remainder of the border. The board is slightly warped with age and, unfortunately, there are some burn marks to the face of the board and there is also chipping to the rim. The centre of the board is scratched, from use.
