Miniature majolica dessert service

A 19th century, miniature, green majolica, dessert service. This service comprises a comport, two shaped dishes and nine plates. Each piece is moulded with a leaf and flower design which is then covered with a green, majolica glaze. This is a matched set as the pieces have varying marks. Two of the plates are marked ’TILL’, one is marked ‘EDGE MALIKN & CO’ and some of the plates just have a number ’01’. The shaped dishes are all unmarked. It dates from c.1870. The design on all the pieces is the same and the tone of green is also the same. However, the colour can appear different between the pieces but this is just due to the variation in the thickness of the glaze. Where the glaze has puddled the colour appears much deeper. The comport is 15cm. Across by 8.5cm. high and each of the plates are between 10 and 10.5cm. diameter. It is all in excellent condition.
