Ornate bubble & squeak chopper

An ornate, 19th century, steel bubble and squeak chopper. This form of chopper was used for chopping the left over vegetables when they were in the frying pan. This is a particularly attractive one as the hand forged blade is really nicely shaped. It dates from c.1840.  The handle is turned from oak. There is slight scorching to the handle but other than that it is in very good condition.
