A deep, nineteenth century, French copper gratin dish. This could be used either as a large pie plate or gratin, or a small baking dish for roasts or fish. It dates from c.1880. It is made from a quite a heavy gauge of copper and it has a fine, steel hanging loop and a wired rim. This would have been the initial of a previous owner. It is in very good condition and the interior has been re-tinned so that it can be used.
