Wedgwood 'Ivory Ware' garniture

SOLD

Code: F19526

A rare, garniture of Wedgwood jardinieres and a vase. These are made from an earthenware which Wedgwood referred to as ‘Ivory Ware’ and they are decorated with flowers and foliage in high raised gilding and enamels. Wedgwood produced very little of this type of pottery and it is even more unusual to find such an impressive garniture. The vase has an impressed ‘WEDGWOOD’ mark and  also a printed mark with ‘WEDGWOOD’ under a Portland vase. It is 30.5cm. high by 23cm. diameter. The jardiniere with the salmon coloured flowers has the same marks but it also has an incised pattern number ’S714 No 25’. It is 19.5cm. diameter by 22cm. high. The jardiniere with the blue flower only has the impressed mark ‘WEDGWOOD’ and the pattern number ’S714’. It is 19cm. high  by 22cm. diameter. On all of the pieces there is very slight rubbing and minor nibbling to the decoration on the high points. However, this is not noticeable without very close inspection. They date from c.1870 when the Wedgwood pottery was going through a very experimental period.

Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £75. Western Europe add £20.
