Miniature cast iron stove

A superb quality, 19th century, French, miniature cast iron stove complete with a collection of miniature copper kitchenware. This charming little stove measures 33.8cm. wide by 18.5cm. deep and 33.5cm. high (without the flue). It is marked, in the casting, ‘GODIN & CIE BTE S.G.D.G.’ and it dates from c.1880. Godin have been manufacturing stoves since 1840 and this miniature example could have been made as a tradesman’s sample or for a child. It is complete, fully functional and in excellent condition. 

The collection of miniature copperware and the iron that accompanies this stove also dates from c.1880. The iron is marked ‘P.G.’ and is 5.5cm. long. The copperware comprises a preserve pan, 2 saucepans, one with lid, a kettle, a skimmer, a gratin dish, an oval frying pan, a sauté pan, and a bucket. They are all excellent quality, being made from a heavy gauge of copper. Miniatures of this quality are hard to find and these are all in excellent condition. The copper is all in good scale with the stove.
