Treen nutcracker, carved with 'RIGI'.

A late nineteenth century, treen nutcracker carved in the form of a hand holding a nut. This is a very nicely carved example with good detail. Around the handle it is carved with the name ‘RIGI’. This could possibly relate to the carver. Good, rich patination to the wood.

Date c.1890

Dimensions: Length 14cm. Width 5cm Depth 4cm. . 

Condition: Very fine crack running from the opening, across two of the knuckles.
