An attractive, cast iron and brass crimping iron. This is marked, in the casting, “CROWN PAT. NOV.2.1875 JULY 1877 REISSUED MAR 23 1889”. It dates from c.1890. It is fitted with brass rollers, a turned wooden handle and a cast iron clamp to hold it to the table when in use. There is gilt painting and blue enamel line decoration which is still all in remarkable good condition.
Overall it is in very good condition with just some wear to the paintwork which is to be expected for a utility piece of this period.
