A miniature, Wedgwood, dark blue, jasper dip coffeepot and cover. This is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1860. It is also impressed with a letter ’X’ and a number ’4’. It is very finely decorated with classical subjects between anthemions and, to the cover, there are scenes of putti at play. All of the reliefs are very good quality and the jasper dip glaze is a rich shade of blue. It is in excellent condition.
It is quite hard to find Wedgwood miniatures from this period.
