Wedgwood Jardiniere made for Capern's

A Wedgwood, dark blue jasper dip jardiniere decorated with birds. These designs were produced by Wedgwood for a Bristol based company which manufactured bird seed. This company, called Capern’s, commissioned the products which were then sold through their shops in the 1920’s and 1930’s. This piece is marked “WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND” and it dates from c.1925. Each side is decorated with reliefs showing two pigeons and there is a border of oak leaves and acorns to the rim. There is very slight staining to the interior, from use, but the piece is in excellent condition, with no cracks, chips or restoration.
