Sadler and Green Delft Tile c.1760

An 18th century, transfer printed, Delft tile by Sadler and Green. This tile show a gentleman putting on a girl’s skate and there are skaters on the pond in the background. It dates from c.1760. The design is adapted from de Larmessin’s engraving of Lancret’s Winter.

There is some chipping to the rim but otherwise the tile is in good condition. There is slight wear to the print.

Dimensions: 12.7cm. (5 inch) square.
