A nineteenth century, herb or vegetable chopper with a shaped steel blade and a brass handle. The blade to this chopper is attractively shaped. It is made from cast steel and the handle is tubular in form, with acorn shaped, cast brass finials to the ends. It is English and it dates from c.1860.
There is slight pitting to the blade, consistent with age and use, but otherwise it is in excellent condition.
