An early 20th century, steel bread knife with a carved sycamore handle. The blade is stamped with “G R”, to either side of a crown, above the manufacturers mark “JOSEPH RODGERS & SONS CUTLERS TO HIS MAJESTY SHEFFIELD ENGLAND”. It is also stamped “SHEAR STEEL” and it dates from c.1920. The handle is carved with the word ‘BREAD”. There is very slight pitting to the blade, from use, but other than this the piece is in very good condition.
