A very good quality, French copper, fancy border mould. This is well made, from a heavy gauge of copper, and it has castellated seams. It dates from c.1870. The ornate design has a rope twist top above fluted and arcaded sides. This is a design which looks really interesting when hanging but would also look good on a shelf. It has a small, brass loop attached to the side, for hanging, and this is original to the piece.
It is in excellent condition. The tinning, to the interior, is worn and slightly flaky.
