A miniature, Wedgwood, dark blue, jasper dip vase. This is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1850. There are a couple of other very indistinct marks, which have not been well struck, and they are possibly workman’s marks. This is relief decorated with a continuous band of classical subjects set between trees. The reliefs are good quality and the jasper dip is a good, rich shade of blue. Miniatures of this period are now quite uncommon.
It is in excellent condition.
