Long Wooden Bread Peel

Code: H20419

A long, but narrow, 19th century wooden bread peel. These were used for taking the bread out of the bread oven and are normally much wider than this example. It is probably carved from beechwood but, through centuries of use, the wood has become slightly scorched so it is now difficult to see the grain in the wood. It is an interesting piece of treen, with considerable character.

English. Date c.1830.

Dimensions: Length 46.5cm. Width 7cm. Depth 1cm.

Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £20. Most of Western Europe add £10.
