A fabulous quality, Welsh pottery plate with an arcaded border. Marked “BAKER, BEVANS & IRWINS” this was the mark of the Glamorgan Pottery from 1813 until 1839. This plate dates from c.1820. The pearlware plate has a basket moulded border, which is coloured in green enamel, within an arcaded rim with blue line decoration. The centre is hand painted with flowers and foliage, in green, red, pink, yellow, blue and brown enamels. The piece is in excellent condition, with no damage and no restoration.
