A large, French copper preserve pan. This is made from a very heavy gauge of copper, it has a rolled rim and the typical, French shape of brass handles to either side. It dates from c.1880. It is stamped, by one of the handles, with a number ’40’ and this relates to the internal diameter of the pan. There is very slight pitting to the interior, on the base of the pan, but other than that it is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Height of pan 15.6cm. Diameter of pan 43.5cm. Overall height including the handles 20cm. Overall width including the handles 50.5cm.
