Rare, Miniature Flat Iron

A rare, miniature brass flat iron with a bronze handle. This is cast with the initials “J.L.”. It is French and dates from c.1860. Most irons of this size and form were made from cast iron and it is quite unusual to find such a simple iron in this combination of materials. The iron section is cast from brass and the ornate handle is cast  from bronze. It is quite a delightful item. 

The handle is slightly bent and this can be seen in the images.
