Small, French Copper Turbotiere

A fairly small sized, French copper turbotiere, cover and drainer. This is marked, on the side by the handle, “VILLEDIEU FRANCE” and it dates from c.1930. It is well made, from a very heavy gauge of copper, and the copper has a planished finish. There are brass handles to both ends of the turbotiere, and also to the lid, and these are the typical French shape of handle which has been used since the middle of the 19th century. The piece is in excellent condition and, although it hasn’t been recently re-tinned, the tinning is still in very good, usable condition.
